Easy Un"Stuffed" Pepper Casserole

A quick and easy casserole that's sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Serves: 4-6 servings
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2-3 green bell peppers
  • 14 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup instant rice
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ⅔ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Brown ground beef in large skillet
  3. Add peppers and onions to ground beef and saute until soft (4-5 minutes)
  4. Drain grease from skillet
  5. Mix in tomato sauce, instant rice, ¼ cup cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper
  6. Transfer mixture to 7" x 11" glass baking dish (or similar) and bake covered for 30 minutes
  7. Remove cover, add remaining ¼ cup cheddar cheese, and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted
  8. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving
