Seasoned salt is so versatile – it can be used on beef, pork, poultry, vegetables, and the list goes on… Personally, I use this seasoned salt on baked sweet potato fries. The great thing about making your own seasoned salt is that you know exactly what’s in it. There are no preservatives, flavor enhancers, etc. Just basic ingredients found in any well stocked spice cabinet.
I’ve tried a lot of recipes, and this self-concocted blend is the one that resonates with me. Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste buds.
- 6 TBS sea salt
- 2¼ tsp smoked paprika (do not substitute regular paprika if you want robust flavor)
- 1 tsp dried mustard
- ½ tsp celery salt
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ tsp marjoram
- ½ tsp garlic salt
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- Place all ingredients into a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Funnel ingredients into empty spice jar. (recipe makes one standard jar full)
I use about a TBS to season baked sweet potato fries. I also use this spice blend for all sorts of meat and vegetable dishes. Enjoy!
